Use this Upgrade Checklist as a live session tool for Slime Out Fish. Work top to bottom. If a box fails, fix it before skipping ahead. The order protects perfect scrapes, Cash flow, and weather value on six-player servers. Deep dives live in the linked guides—this page is the executable list.

Before you cast

• Open settings and redeem every working code on the codes page.
• Claim the like-and-favorite chest if available (potions + ~1,000 Cash).
• Note the weather timer and identify the next Aurora, Thunder, Meteor, or Rainy window (Weather Events).
• Equip rod + knife intentionally—no mixed toolbar surprises (Controls).

Sharpness gate (knife first when dull)

• Scrape 5–10 fish. Are perfect scrapes the default?
• If no, buy the next knife: Starter → Kitchen Knife (~$15) → Chef / Alloy / Sharpener → late Seaside Overlord only when millions are ready (knives tier list, Perfect Scaling).
• If yes, proceed to rod check. Do not impulse-buy Seaside Overlord “for vibes.”

Catch quality gate (rod when commons dominate)

• Are you still on Beginner Rod? Buy Toy Rod after Kitchen Knife (Getting Started).
• Still landing only weak commons with clean perfects? Climb Bamboo / Carbon Fiber, then Lightning, Ice Arrow, Crystalline as Cash allows (rods tier list).
• After each rod upgrade, re-test perfect rate. Failed perfects → return to knife gate.

Bait gate (only when the knife keeps up)

• Can you perfect-scrape a full multi-catch load without backlog?
• If yes, buy / refresh bait (~$30+ capacity) (bait and boosts).
• If no, stop—bait will only stack unscrapeable fish. Fix knife first.

Luck & totem gate (save for elite skies)

• Inventory check: Luck Potion II, Lucky Totem, other luck/strength potions.
• Hold luck totems/potions unless sky is Aurora, Thunder, or Meteor (Rainy is optional light use).
• Never dump S-tier luck on Sunny maintenance casts.
• Strength potions only if rod strength is the real gate for your target fish.

Weather burst checklist

• Bait loaded, luck ready (if this is Aurora/Thunder/Meteor).
• Cast for weather fish first when they spawn.
• Turn weather fish in to Thunder Siam at map center for Starlight (Meteor fish ≈ 1715 each).
• Feed scaled normals to ducks for Cash (How to Earn Cash).
• Shop only after the burst unless sharpness completely collapses.

Index & knowledge gate

• Open your fish index and note gaps.
• Use Night or event skies to fill missing logs instead of random Sunny hope.
• Skim Updates / weather patch notes after version bumps so multipliers stay honest.

End-of-session reinvest

• Count Cash. Pick one upgrade that fixes the weakest pillar (knife, rod, or bait).
• Bank leftover Cash if the next weather is minutes away.
• Review Players routines if you felt scattered.

Slime Out Fish is a balanced two-tool tycoon. Codes and the chest accelerate the Kitchen Knife. The knife protects duck payouts. The rod raises catch ceilings. Bait multiplies only a healthy loop. Luck consumables multiply only healthy skies. Index work prevents aimless casting. Totems are ammunition, not fidget toys.
