Getting Started

Slime Out Fish (Roblox Scale Slimy Fish by Scale the Deeps) launched June 10, 2026. Servers hold up to six players. Your job is simple on paper and easy to botch on day one: catch slimy fish with a rod, scrape scales with a knife, feed hungry ducks for Cash, and upgrade tools without starving either half of the loop. This walkthrough gets you through the first session with free rewards claimed, a sharper knife, a better rod, bait capacity, and a plan for weather and luck items.

Minute zero: codes and the like chest

Before you grind commons, open settings and redeem every active entry on the codes page. Free Cash and potions shorten the dull-knife phase dramatically. Next, complete the like-and-favorite chest requirements if you have not already—the chest pays potions plus about 1,000 Cash, which is enough runway to buy the Kitchen Knife (~$15) and still bank toward a Toy Rod. Skipping these gifts is the most common early mistake in Slime Out Fish.

If buttons feel unclear, skim Controls for cast, scrape, inventory, and shop inputs on PC and mobile, then return here.

Learn the catch-scale-feed loop

  1. Catch — Equip your Beginner Rod at the dock and cast into the water. Early fish are commons; that is fine. Focus on clean casts and filling your carry so you are not walking empty-handed.
  2. Scale — Move to the scaling flow and scrape with your starter knife. Aim for perfect scrapes. Incomplete scrapes pay less when you feed. A dull knife that cannot finish scales is a Cash leak—see Perfect Scaling for why sharpness matters as much as rod luck.
  3. Feed — Deliver scaled fish to the hungry ducks (animals) for Cash. Cash funds rods, knives, bait, and later consumables. Do not hoard raw fish hoping prices magically rise; process them while your knife still cuts cleanly.

Repeat that triangle until you feel the bottleneck. If fish pile up unscrapeable, the knife is behind. If you scrape instantly but only land tiny commons, the rod is behind. Balance is the whole early game—full cash strategy lives on How to Earn Cash.

First upgrades: Kitchen Knife, then Toy Rod

Spend your first reliable Cash on the Kitchen Knife (~$15). It is the cheapest sharpness jump that makes perfect scrapes realistic on early fish. Only after the knife stops truncating payouts should you push the rod line: Beginner Rod → Toy Rod, then toward Bamboo or Carbon Fiber as Cash allows. Depth, luck, and strength on rods matter more as you leave the starter pier; do not buy a flashy mid rod while still failing scrapes.

Use the rods tier list and knives tier list when you outgrow Toy Rod and Kitchen Knife. Mid options such as Lightning Rod, Ice Arrow Rod, and Crystalline Rod belong after your knife tier can keep up. Late Seaside Overlord knives cost millions—ignore that price tag on day one.

Bait, index, totems, and luck potions

Once catch and scrape speeds feel matched, buy bait (roughly $30+) to raise multi-catch capacity. Extra fish in one cast only helps if the knife finishes them; otherwise you create a scaling backlog. After bait, glance at your fish index so you know which commons you have logged and which gaps remain for Night or event weather.

Save luck potions and totems (including Lucky Totem style boosts) for strong skies. Burning them on Sunny wastes the multiplier. Read Weather Events and the bait and boosts tier list before you pop anything expensive. Aurora doubles mutated spawns and brings weather fish; Rainy is 1.2× luck; Thunder is 1.5× luck with five weather fish; Meteor is 2× luck, 2× mutated, and two high-value weather fish. Turn weather fish in to Thunder Siam at map center for Starlight—Meteor weather fish pay around 1715 Starlight each.

Day-one checklist

  • Redeem all working codes.
  • Claim the like-and-favorite chest (potions + ~1k Cash).
  • Complete several clean catch → perfect scrape → duck feed cycles.
  • Buy Kitchen Knife as soon as Cash allows.
  • Upgrade Beginner Rod toward Toy Rod once scrapes stay perfect.
  • Add bait when the knife keeps pace with multi-catch loads.
  • Note the weather timer; park luck items for Aurora, Thunder, or Meteor.
  • Open the upgrade checklist for a reusable spend order.
  • Bookmark Players for session routines and mistake lists after your first hour.

What not to do on day one

Do not chase Seaside Overlord or top rods while still on a dull starter knife. Do not ignore weather fish during Thunder or Meteor. Do not skip codes because you “want to play first”—the free Cash is part of the tutorial economy. Do not invent secret spots from rumor videos; stick to dock fishing, clean scrapes, and documented weather windows.

Finish this route, then deepen cash farming, weather Starlight, and tool tiers through the linked guides. Official game and Discord links live on the wiki links page. Welcome to Slime Out Fish—keep the knife sharp and the rod honest.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common Slime Out Fish questions.

What should I buy first in Slime Out Fish?

After codes and the like chest, buy the Kitchen Knife (~$15) so scrapes stay perfect. Then move Beginner Rod toward Toy Rod once scaling keeps up.

When should I buy bait?

After your knife can finish the fish you already catch. Bait adds multi-catch capacity around the $30+ range; it hurts if it only stacks unscrapeable inventory.

What is the like-and-favorite chest?

A starter reward for liking and favoriting the experience. It grants potions plus about 1,000 Cash—claim it before your first upgrade pass.

Where do I spend luck potions and totems?

Save them for Aurora, Thunder, or Meteor. Those weathers multiply luck or mutated spawns and can spawn weather fish for Starlight via Thunder Siam.

Where can I learn the buttons?

Use the Controls guide for PC and mobile cast, scrape, inventory, settings, and shops, then return to this checklist.
